The Loyalist Fencing Club provides instruction in the art and sport of fencing. We have opportunities for fencers both young and young of heart, and we hold classes in all three weapons: sabre, foil and epee. All classes include a warm-up, conditioning and development of fencing specific physical fitness skills (strength, speed, agility, flexibility), and technical/tactical skill development (fencing footwork, bladework, strategy), and bouting.
Virtually all new members come to us with no previous fencing experience. Fencing is an accommodating sport in which beginners can learn the basics and begin enjoying the thrill of fencing very quickly; it is also a sport that can provide years of challenge in mastering those skills!
We aim to provide a safe, social atmosphere for the development of new skills, friendly competition, and physical fitness. Club members join for a variety of reasons including improving fitness levels, to learn a new sport, to engage in competition, and one of our objectives is to respect individual goals and foster progress in striving towards these goals.
Students who wish to train to compete outside of the club are provided with guidance and training to ensure positive experiences and accomplishments. Our club has had fencers successfully compete at provincial, national and international tournaments, and we have had youth fencers qualify and medal at the past 3 Ontario Summer Games.
Check out our Fees and Equipment, and our Schedules pages for further details.

The Loyalist Fencing Club already has another great season of fencing underway with our fall session. Once again, our fencing salle location will be in the gymnasium of Sir John A MacDonald Public School, 22 Harder Drive, Belleville.
Our first session will be 14 classes and will run from the week of September 18/19, 2019 to the week of December 18/19, 2019. Our Winter/Spring session will begin in January. Fencers join our club throughout the season however, so your don't have to wait! Come and try a class out at any point in the season.
Our Fall 2019 schedule will be:
Youth/Adult Foil & Epee: Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00
Youth/Adult Sabre: Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00
See our Schedules page for further details.
"Youth" includes fencers 12 years old and up. Some exceptions for fencers who haven't quite turned 12 yet will be made at the discretion of the head coach.
Please note that at this time unfortunately we will not be able to offer the kid's class that we held previously.
Please contact us to hold a spot on our registration list.
